This is what gives the O&G small caps a bad reputation: biz.yahoo.com EXCO does a preferred stock offering at $21/share, takes the money and does a bunch a acquisitions, then management buys out the whole company, giving the preferred shareholders $18.26 a share. Paying about a buck an mcfe for the reserves. In a purely rational market someone woulda stepped in an outbid management here. But the "old boy" network is still firmly enshrined in the O&G bidness!
