" Pat Cadell who is a democratic operative and pollster who came to fame with running jimmy carters successful campaign in 1976 is known for his brutal honesty. He has taken on his own party at times but is very anti-bush particularly over the iraq war. He said today on Fox that kerry has all but blown his chance. By making this a referendum on vietnam he has alientated old vets and old draft dodgers alike--former doesnt like self-promoting heroes or post war activities and the latter doesnt like being called traitors for avoiding the vietnam war thru deferments and national guard and reserve service. Anyway he stressed the daily growing of kerrys negatives which will reflect in the popularity polls later much to kerrys detriiment. He said kerry has about two weeks or so to change the campaign from vietnam and war records on to somehting more current. He ended his remarks by saying that if dan rathers/cbs expose turns out to be a hoax, even a hoax, perpetrated more to embarrass cbs than the president, kerry was doomed because yesterday kerry, mccaulliffe, harkin and crew jumped aboard that train and would be blamed by the public for the big lie.
