"If you get it please explain!"

I think the economy is not as good as it was, but think overall we have it pretty good here. Whether the unemployment rate is 1% or 10% I feel confident in my ability to get by in America. I feel confident that it will get better as progress is made in the war on terror. Don't particularly like the "doom and gloom" mentality that is so common in our country and media, and I try to look at the positive. Interest rates are low, its a good time to borrow. I believe the republican message that enabling big businesses to prosper allows all to prosper by creating jobs. The dem position that we should just give money to low income people sounds nice to the masses, but I don't understand how they can make a serious argument that it helps the economy.

When I graduated from college the interest rates were way up there. My 1st car loan was at 20 1/2%. Inflation was out of control, and I don' know the statistics, but my guess was that unemployment was higher than it is today.

Reagan fixed all that though, so we are in pretty good shape right now. <g>
