I agree 100%.

I think there's going to be a bit of a backlash as people are disappointed after buying based on the hype from both AMD and Intel (but mostly Intel - AMD's easily understood performance numbers continue to show the limits a user should expect from dual core). Intel's "twice as good" with no other indication of performance is going to piss buyers off - a lot like their empty mhz did, and drive even more customers to AMD.

AMD needs to be waiting with reasonably priced, high performing, single core parts.
