Don't have time to translate the whole thing but here are some highlights:

....... Unicom plans on releasing 7 million numbers. They think this target is realistic.

...... since CDMA is progressing well, China Unicom is no longer planning any major expansion of GSM but rather just optimize the current GSM resources.

There are a few very important messages here. First, Unicom has full control of whether they would prefer to push GSM or CDMA. This is a major announcement in that regards. GSM is toast as far as Unicom is concerned.

Second, most of the knowledgeable analysts are only estimating 4 million CDMA subs for China this year. If Unicom is not going to push GSM anymore, I would say the 4 million number should be a slam dunk.

China is estimating total sub growth of around 50 million this year. Unicom's 7 million target and qcom's 4 million target appear to be quite doable.
