Analog Devices Unveils Complete System Hardware Monitor for Microprocessor-Based Systems
The ADM1026 is highly integrated thermal and system management device for server platforms, featuring 27 measurement channels, I/O, memory and temperature sensing

NORWOOD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 2000-- Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI - news) today announced its ADM1026 PC Systems Monitor device. This complete system hardware monitor includes 19 analog and eight fan-speed measurement channels, 13 general-purpose I/O pins, remote and on-chip temperature sensing, on-chip firmware and an I2C-compatible system-management bus (SMBus)--as well as compatibility with the Intel HH5 server standard. The ADM1026 also integrates both linear and pulse width modulation (PWM) fan controllers--reducing cost through integration. This highly integrated thermal and system monitor--the only part of its kind in the world--is designed for higher-end server platforms and high-reliability systems such as Web servers and base stations that require remote monitoring. The ADM1026 addresses the burgeoning server market, which is expected to grow to more than 2.5 millions units shipped in 2000 and more than 10 million units shipped by 2005.

``In today's microprocessor-based server systems, maintaining stringent voltage levels and effective thermal management are critical to system reliability and continuous high performance,'' said Paul Errico, Marketing Manager, Thermal and Systems Monitoring Products, Analog Devices, Inc. ``The ADM1026 offers all the functionality needed to monitor multiple system voltages, as well as to monitor on-chip and remote temperatures, while controlling system fan speeds. Although the device has default limits built in, designers can easily set different limit values to tailor the ADM1026 to their specific system requirements--providing a high degree of flexibility to server design.''

As an Intel-specified product, the ADM1026 device is a PC industry standard. It meets all the requirements for Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI), the Desktop Management Interface (DMI), and the Wired for Management (WfM) initiative.

Pricing and Availability

The ADM1026 is available, and is priced at $4.95 in 1000-piece quantities. For more information, visit: www.analog.com. For larger-volume purchases, contact Analog Devices.
