Hello Greg,

Your idea of the ideal prison setting has merit but you would have the prisoner rights advocates screaming cruel and unusual punishment for putting an entire prison population in a form of solitary confinement.

On the thought of advocates this verse came leaping forward as the example of the perfect lawyer...

I John Chp 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:....

Any time someone yelled "my rights" I'd love to give Jesus as legal aid!

After that statement I should clarify that I would be fervently opposed to a police state and certain rights should be protected jealously. Where I have difficulty is when society and innocent people suffer because of an individuals rights.

Imagine meeting a person that openly and boastfully confesses to murder and that he enjoys doing it and can't wait till the next opportunity. Why should the taxpayer feed this critter for the rest of his days? I cannot see the benefit.

Unfortunately I agree with you where you stated that innocent men will be convicted, there have been recent examples in the media.

If you'll bear with me I have a short story you might like.... (not intending to make light of a serious topic)

A certain king went to visit the prison and check on the conditions there.
Hundreds of inmates recognized his majesty right away and they all began pleading there innocence. They suggested they had been framed, set up, made a scape goat for the courts or left holding the bag by the real guilty parties.
The kings attention fell upon one prisoner who was sitting silently in his cell and he asked him "have you nothing to say?"
The prisoner responded with "No sire, I'm guilty as charged and deserve to be here."
The king immediately shouted out "Gaurds! Release this man. I don't want him corrupting these other innocent people!"

God bless,
John
