I heard that Intel not only reduced the price of the P4s, also the Conroe is going to be introduced at a very low price:
1.86GHz/2M for $183
2.13GHz/2M for $224
2.40GHz/4M for $316
The Conroe is nearly half the price of the equivilant Athlon
(the Athlon 64 X2 4800+ cost $645)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think AMD are only reducing prices on the lower end single core processors.

Also the Pentium D 805, a dual core, goes for $93. AMDs cheapest dual core is $300, although, it's probably a better chip, it would be very tempting for people who want to get the best bang for buck.

Of coarse this won't effect Q2, but in Q3 AMD could have problems
