re: I believe it takes about a month from the time you make a switch in production quantities until it materializes at the output end.

I read that it takes two months to manufacture a part started in fab 36 and a couple of weeks more in fab 30, thanks to different levels of APM (v3. vs v2).

In comparison Intel's fabs won't be faster (probably a couple of weeks slower although I can't be sure about that).
