FWIW I think subsidies are great for shareholders - free cash - since this is a global economy it also means the company is in a better position to compete globally. Heck companies relocate and move based on tax subsidies etc - this means all the semis must be hated because these 'exist on subsidy' - I don't think so.

What matters is how they convert the subsidy be it in the form of a tax break, grant whatever to cash flow. If they squander it away they are idiots, if they convert it into a high ROE then they are brilliant.

TSEMF has other issues - the subsidy helps them not makes them look bad.
