The important takeaway for me is that Obama did not lose his lead during the debates last time, and he is unlikely to do any differently in 2012, given Romney's numerous vulnerabilities and tendency to say stupid things off the cuff when flustered.

We know that zillions of dollars of TV ads haven't moved things in Romney's favor all summer.

The Mideast stuff will simmer down and go back to its usual state of chronic inflammation in a month.

I don't see what other magic rabbits Romney has in his hat. Obama is doing to him what he did to Hillary, which was to open a quiet but fairly insurmountable lead when she wasn't looking, then just plow forward day to day until the final ballot is in.

I am not feeling complacent by any means, but confident, yes, much moreso now than a few weeks ago.
