However, Rambus is reducing its power consumption. techweb.com <<Toprani said Rambus engineers have nearly completed work on the new delay-locked loop (DLL) circuit that will significantly cut the power consumption of the Direct RDRAM. That work soon will be transferred out to the Rambus partners, such as NEC. Rambus expects the DLL and other power-saving techniques to result in a Direct RDRAM that delivers eight times the bandwidth, at equivalent power, compared with the 100-MHz synchronous DRAMs coming to the market next year.>>
