I am reading a long article in Time magazine about the situation in Iraq. Man it sounds ten times worse than we are being told on TV.

I think it is inevitable the middle east will explode and gold will explode with it.

The three big variables that seem certain are:

1) Dems will win house and impeach bush. How will rove counter the impeachment---bomb Iran?

2) Israel or the US will bomb Iran within a year. What conflagration will that create; and

3) Iraq will devolve into a full blown civil war which will require partition of the country into sahia, Kurds and sunni. but what we forget is that millions of people will have to walk away from their homes.

all of the above problems are chronic and I see no way gold can decline in the face of these.

And then there is Japan and China! eyeball to eyeball.
