You are correct... I don't have much respect for Edward Jones, but then, maybe I just had bad luck with the Memphis office and with my new "neighbor."

Either way, I'd trust the info and guidance on this board way more than anyone else in the world, no matter who they work for...

I just don't think they'd care as much about my money as I do, though they probably do care about the fees they could make from me.

I still find it hard to believe that online brokerages still charge as much as they do for trades, despite those fees being tiny fractions of what traditional broker in the pre-internet days charged. I used to get free trades when I traded a lot. Now I don't. So the online brokers are making money even when they "give" us free trades. What worries me is that I may not fully understand how they do it other than using dark pools or high frequency trading to get every penny advantage they can every nano-second using other people's trades and pocketing the difference. Must be substantial.
