Tonight begins the 4th anniversary of the battle of Baghdad. FOUR FN YEARS and the entire American Armed Forces have not tamed this one city. To put this in context, it is more than four times longer than from DDay to the fall of the Third Reich. and it took how long to defeat Germany altogether? from September 1939 to May 1945........ D-day June 6th 1944 to the fall of the third Reich is hardly as momentous as the actual length of time it took to win the war. Of course it took the Americans less time to win WWII they arrived to the party late. OTOH The army that helped win WWI and WWII and who defeated the British has forgotten their roots. You didn't beat the British fighting a British war, you didn't beat the Russians fighting a Russian war, and you taught al Qaeda lots of stuff. The problem is your news media. You talk to bloody much, and you telegraph your punches. Notify Syria that sending weapons or insurgents into iraq is an act of war, do the same with iran. Wanna win, act like a victor, act like you don't care who gets killed as long as you get your way. If you wanna play nice, stay home and wait, Islam will come and fight on US soil if you give them some time.
