>>The PC main memory market is enormous and if Rambus is successful in penetrating it, the royalty revenue opportunity for the company will be well over $1 billion.
This is one of the few times I have seen the upside put into print. It still stops short of converting to EPS. My own (hopes) are a little (5x) lower but have the same number of zeros. I find it interesting that so many folks fuss about how many pennies per share the stock may or may not earn in the near term, when there is a chance that they will earn tens of dollars per share in as little as two years from now.
Oh yeah, there is also the worry that the employees are all waiting to sell at any price on Nov 10. Yeah right, like they have not been done the upside EPS calculations a hundred times per person.
Even if the odds were against it, this would be a good gamble, and days like today ( Microprocesser Forum ) demonstrate that the odds favor Rambus owning the standard.
OTOH, please, everybody, sell, sell, sell, sellll short also, I am only at 88% of my intended investment and the flounder in me would like one more dip. I know the savings are small in the long term, but hey, there is a modest game element to this. |
