(REUTERS) U.S. Q3 GDP up strongly, but inflation very low U.S. Q3 GDP up strongly, but inflation very low By Scott Gerlach NEW YORK, Oct 31 (Reuters) - The U.S. economy performed about as well as anyone could have hoped last quarter, with stronger growth and lower inflation than economists had expected, government data showed Friday. The Commerce Department said Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew at a 3.5-percent annual rate in the third quarter, up from a 3.3-percent rate the previous three months. Experts polled by Reuters had projected, on average, that GDP had risen at a 3.2-percent pace.
