Bush says "bring 'em on" was big mistake It certainly was a political mistake. I don't think it had much if any effect on the number or determination of our opponents, but in hindsight (and perhaps even without the benefit of hindsight) it doesn't sound like a very wise thing to say. He also cited the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal as "the biggest mistake that's happened so far, at least from our country's involvement in Iraq ... We've been paying for that for a long period of time," he said. The prisoner abuse was a bigger deal. Not putting in adequate controls to prevent or at least seriously reduce it certainly was a mistake.
