I suppose my comment could be viewed as such although I had meant something else which you may deem even harsher. I value life greatly, my own and others, but I prioritize. Let me explain with a question.

You have the opportunity to save only one person out of two from some inevitably fatal accident. One you know is a murderer of the nature that I described, unrepentant, vicious and predatory.
The other is of equal age but you know he is just an average every day person.
Whose life do you put more value on? Who would you choose to rescue?

I regret having used the taxpayer term because cost is not the most important issue. My concern rests soley with protecting potential future victims and lastly a just punishment.

I am admittedly very biased on the issue of capital punishment but do not claim perfect knowledge. Forgiveness on my part was a very hard lesson learned that I believe only God was able to teach.
