[siemens doing ADSL chips in '98]

<<I then asked what other ADSL business Siemens was working on and he said their semiconductor division will have a chip out in '98, using Amati's technology.>>

Once these chips are in production wouldn't Siemens/Italtel be likely to use them and build their own ADSL products instead of reselling Amati-build products? Amati's revenue participation in a Siemens sale would be reduced to mere per-chip license royalties. Not good.

Pat, do you agree that AMTX's stock value is tied to its ability to sell Amati-manufactured-and-labeled components, or do you think significant share price growth can happen based only on MOT, TI, NEC, and probably ALA, ADI, & G.SIE royalty streams?

Siemens seems to be all over the place chipwise. They have a deal with Motorola for CopperGold, your sources say they're champing at the bit for the TI C6X solution, and now they're ramping up to produce their own in '98? Whew.
