I agree

Dishonoring the Uniform [John Derbyshire]

Andrew: I am well aware of Andy McNab's credentials. He is wrong. Why could these people not have "done their best to get by" by giving up their names, ranks, and serial numbers, then refusing to do or say anything else? Can you tell me? Can Andy McNab?
They are uniformed servicemen representing their country, held unlawfully by a nation that has declared its hostility to Western Civilization, and threatened various acts of violence against us.

Able Seaman (I assume that's his rank) Summers had no business going on Iranian TV to tell the world that his country was wrong (even if it was) and Iran right. That was unpatriotic behavior. In the Queen's uniform.

Capt. Air and Lt. Carman disgraced themselves and their uniforms by groveling to their captors and thanking them.

Leading Seaman Turney should have pulled off that headscarf. It is not part of a British serviceman's uniform, and so she should not have worn it.

At a bare minimum, these servicemen should have stayed silent and refused to do what the Iranians instructed them to do. I would, in fact, say the same if they had been apprehended by a friendly power.

To see British servicemen parroting the propaganda of a foreign country should induce shame in all British people. The servicemen who permitted themselves to be used in this way should at a minimum be dishonorably discharged from the service.
