Firing people is easy

Too often the management uses pink slips to cut the costs. From the economical point of view, however, it is much more effective if material and energy costs get their attention - German economy has a potential of 180 Billion euro per year in this regard. Addressing these issues would harm neither the quality of products nor the standard of living.
