When the Walter Reed scandal broke, I said the Military needed these kind of units. Glad to see the Marines have stepped in. Marines establish Wounded Warrior Regiment [W. Thomas Smith Jr.] The Marine Corps has created a special regiment "to improve care and services for injured and ill Marines." Headquartered at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, the new Wounded Warrior Regiment (with one battalion each at Camps Pendleton and Lejeune) became an official Marine unit on Sunday.
