you actually get the currency appreciation even on the amex listed stocks. they are shares in cdn listed companies. it doesn't matter where they are listed. all other things equal, if the cdn currency appreciates and there is no change in the company fundamentals or relative valuation, the amex listing will appreciate due to the currency change
