You shouldn't. Neither AMD nor Intel has ever done a pure optical shrink. They have always introduced changes, major and minor. They have to redo and tweak anyway, why wouldn't they introduce fixes and changes? The things that the post talks about are very minor changes with respect to the datapath, but have some impact on performance. Just the sort of thing that gets introduced at a switch to a new process.
