VANCOUVER, Sept. 5 /CNW/ - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSXV:SPM) is pleased to announce additional underground assay results of ongoing drilling from the 8th Level of the Nuestra Senora silver mine located near Cosala, Sinaloa State, Mexico (Table 1).
Peter J. Hawley, President and CEO reports, "Our drilling from the 8th level continues to define the extension of mineralization not tested by previous operator, ASARCO. Previous drill results from this level has shown that the mineralized zone extends to the south outside and away from the developed area and remains open on strike. Table 1 presents results from testing the northern extension, which is also open on strike and has returned some impressive widths of mineralization."
"We have had remarkable success with sampling and correlation of mineralization remaining on the lower levels of the Nuestra deposit as well as exploration drilling outside of ASARCO's developed areas. These results, along with our continued success in drilling of the new Hoag discovery, will allow for substantially increasing the resource base at Nuestra Senora."

Mr. Scammell is responsible for the current exploration and development program and the preparation of all technical information provided in this release. All technical information for the Nuestra Senora property is obtained and reported under a formal quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) program. Samples are shipped to the ALS Chemex preparation laboratory in Hermosillo, Mexico for drying, crushing and pulverizing. ALS Chemex, Hermosillo then sends the pulps by air-freight to ALS Chemex, Vancouver for assaying. Systematic assaying of standards and blanks are performed for precision and accuracy; check assays are regularly conducted by SGS Lakefield Research.
