I lived in Scarborough for 25 years .. now Ajax.. I am very familiar though with Brampton... Yes I notice far fewer poppies.. it is sadly a generational thing also.. and no we do not strive for a melting pot in Canada..

Funny the stress in QC wrt headscarves and certain minorities.. (they do not bother me.. .. my mom, a staunch RC always and still does wear a kerchief in Church.. when I was a kid many women wore them everywhere ... .. and the plastic rain one when it rained :)) It was not religious.. just practical... the law applies to Christians too.. no crucifixes showing period...

Headscarves is much ado about naught IMO.. but the fact that it (the law INCLUDES Christian symbols rarely seems to make the press...) QC once the most religious is now the least religious and this law is a natural progression...
