Actually, you could say the same about fundamentalist Jews and Christians, not just Muslims.

I would agree with you about Judaism in its most fundamental form since there was a long history of religious rule in ancient Israel.

But Christianity is not the same.. Jesus explicitly instructs his disciples to "render unto Caesar that is which is Caesar's, and render unto God that which is God's".

This is clear difference and makes sense as Christians are very much of the belief that mankind cannot create "Heaven on Earth".

Now that's not to say that some of the current fundamentalist Christians wouldn't like to turn the US into a Theocratic government, but there is not basis for this in the New Testament.
