Good observation though.

On a machine that is already on a network, adding a DSL connection will entail the addition of a second NIC. It would be more common to have the DSL connection made to the hub/router/switch existing on the network already. If your DSL connection exists on the 500 then tanstfl is absolutely right, don't delete the drivers for the second NIC or nothing will work.

KC, you might want to consider a home router that is designed for sharing DSL connections. The configuration process is very clear and many steps are automated. The cost is reasonable ($100.00) and you get additional benefits (NAT).
