<endorsement of the very kind of socialist-style command and control economics embraced by the Soviet Union that led to its collapse, not the free market principles on which the United States economy is based.> This is an elected officials alleged comments regarding the DOJ's work on behalf of it's constituents --the American people. It's not "alleged" comments at all. Senator Gorton is damn right about this and I'm glad he has the guts to say so. The DOJ's work is on behalf of its own lawyers and bureaucrats. "Give us more money, give us more power" is their mantra. The best interests of their "constituents --the American people", excluding whining competitors such as NSCP, is not even on their agenda.
