Actually, I think Microsoft SELLS puts, so this probably didn't help them, either. I do wonder what makes Ballmer such an expert on other people's stocks. Maybe he had MSFT in mind as the one that's overpriced -- in that case I would agree with him. Who knows what his motivation might be, or what spin we'll now see placed on his comments by Microsoft's PR machine? Maybe it was just a bug in his brain's OS -- I can see the headline now: "Ballmer's BSOD."

JMHO.
