I want to thank you in particular for your reason here. I too went away for awhile. I expected to see a retraction too...but as you say, YUCK!

<<Some conservatives earnestly believe that what Clinton has done merits an
impeachment.>>

Honestly, I'm sure it's not just "some" of them.
You see, it's the harm done to the other parties involved. Some are disgusted with the age of the intern and the acts- and some Democrats fall into this category of those in favor of impeachment. I don't see the sex as a reason to impeach. If a man is President, however, he CANNOT allow an American Citizen(one of his bosses), to be slandered by his own perjury, and expect to remain President- by his oath of office- NO WAY!

This IS an "overblown soap opera"- one created by a President protecting himself from his own petty faults. The Lewinsky testimony matches the modus operandi of the Jones charges. No STARR had knowledge of his adultery with Lewinsky prior to the fact of it. Clinton lied. Jones wouldn't have a penny from him today if he were not caught. Right?!! Of course.

His testimony denies to this day the truth of his perjury. 86% of Americans believe he perjured himself against Jones! Again, he simply DID harm one of his bosses- with planned, orchestrated perjury negatively affecting her life in the extreme(trailer park trash). He denies to this day his perjury and so any legal responsibility for admittedly thwarting Jones as best he could. "...the WHOLE truth..."...heavy sigh. Convicting Clinton in the Senate for these illegal actions simply wouldn't harm an undeserving soul now nor in the future. DEFINITELY impeachable.
