Comprehensive?

Mark Krikorian
The Corner

One of the factors distorting the current immigration debate is that the MSM have internalized the pro-amnesty side's language. Specifically, many in the elite media have adopted the pro-amnesty crowd's buzzword of "comprehensive" to describe the McCain-Bush-Kennedy-Hagel-Martinez-Specter approach. It's one thing to use it in quotes, but recent examples from "news" stories in the Washington Post, the NY Times, and the AP show that reporters' and editors' preference for amnesty colors their writing, just as with "the procedure opponents call 'partial-birth abortion.'" On the other hand, it also seeems that "comprehensive" is becoming something of a joke, the word increasingly used satirically by commentators.
