Sure, sometimes that's all people can do, is agree to disagree ... i've known your positions on these matters for some time, as a lurker, now you're getting an glimpse of mine .... yours represent those of US nationals who fervently support the current administration of that country in all of its policies without question, a number of souls i would judge to be something around the low tens of millions, while mine come from the perspective of the rest of us six billions or so, you may find it of value to at least consider them Nobody likes a dictator ... this comes up in the history of your country, even in the way it is written there for the consumption of your children ... the third George of England for instance, he really was less than brilliant, though you know a lord named North had much to do with policy then ... funny the parallel there with your first Ronald, eh ... but anyway we managed to find a more political and less violent means of progressing to what we call democracy, soon as we'd dispensed with Jefferson's little 'acquisition' idea in re our homeland, then pretty soon came abolition of slavery, the Reform Acts, Victoria, MacKenzie, Papineau, confederation, etc
Now you are experiencing your third George, and as luck would have it he does use the word 'we' in a distinctly royal sense, in other words there is no we about it, beyond a small circle of friends ... maybe it is something in the name-number combination ... may you get through this time using political means, and not the path of violence like with the other third George
Ish replies also to your post here, citing the WTC event with its 3,000 dead as good and sufficient reason for handing your third George carte blanche to do as he pleases with the largest military the planet has ever known, shoot anybody, invade anybody, curtail anybody's civil liberties, whatever .... Ish mentions seeing reruns of the towers falling for instilling in him this conviction
Well that's Ish .... me, i see those images and i am electrified again by the same second thought i had then ... first thought was, my god all those people ... second thought, following two, maybe three seconds on, was my god, to what degree will the militarists down there seize the opportunity to overreact, to shake their fists at all the rest of us and shriek slogans like, yer with us er yer agin us, their fingers on triggers and getting itchy again
Then a little later, it becomes known that this same administration employs a number of people complicit in atrocities against the nicaragüenses - Abrams, Armitage, Negroponte, Reich, Secord - they even tried to hire Kissinger but he wouldn't reveal his client list .... these folks were part of an operation that used argentino torturers and a variety of other scum to murder and torture and rape in the spreading of terror, they produced around 30,000 known mortal casualties
So if it's a numbers game, the nicaragüenses have more right to rule the planet ... except wait, what about the vietnamese with 3,000,000 dead after Truman turned thumbs down on their independence and gave the nod to the french, sure you guys, go ahead and do your empire thing again
Not much point in typing all that out to Ish, we'd likely just have to agree to disagree on that too .... i don't like it when your third George dictates to me, Lindy, i'm not gonna ever like it, and there's a whole lot more like me on this planet than there are of you and Ish .... perhaps on that we can agree, if not then say la vee .... salut |
