I guess that is a matter of personality and temperament, like investing strategies. The pure GGrs will buy vintage Bordeaux from proven years knowing that it will appreciate solidly in price. The early-in-the-tornado types will look for the latest CA producers, just as they make their reputation, but before the price rockets through the roof. Those who like options and leaps will go the futures route. And, for the real venture capital types, they will buy futures from someone like Dave Coffaro, who will start selling futures on his 2000 wine this April, before the buds are barely out!
