David, I haven't checked recently, but the Mattel action figures were underperforming the high-end stuff a few weeks ago in the San Fran area. They were still doing okay though. Problem was they have similar figures for batman/thunder cats/marvel (x-men,spiderman)/etc etc etc - so they are competing with themselves. BUGS stuff had a wider distribution than the others though due to topicality. No idea now ..... but I thought I'd cherp in !!. IMHO the reason mattel's in trouble is because they have little imagination in their products ... they seem to do things by numbers and go through the same old motions. Still .... they're getting bigger so they must be doing something right, even if it is through acquisitions) Good luck all Stephen
