Authorizes an additional 14,000 Border Patrol agents by 2011 to the current force of 11,300 agents.

I understand they are having problems recruiting/training/maintaining the current authorized level. They might have to increase pay.

I heard some problems with the bill on the radio yesterday. Including the fact that the bill would take authority away from state and local officials to enforce laws against illegal immigration and that "The bill forbids the federal government to use any information included in an application for amnesty in national-security or criminal investigations."

Looking for a source that I could link to I only found this -
rightwingnews.com a rather partisan site but still worth posting. I'm not sure all 22 on the list are really problems or at least not problems that we would avoid without the law, but some of them are.

There also appears to be a constitutional problem. The senate bill calls for illegals to make tax payments, but the constitution requires bills for raising revenue to originate in the house.
