SACRAMENTO, Calif., Mar 15, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Ophthalmic Imaging Systems
("OIS" or the "Company") (OTCBB:OISI) today reported its financial results for
the year ended December 31, 2003.

The Company's net revenues for fiscal 2003 were $9,945,000, an increase of 17%
over net revenues of $8,466,000 for the previous fiscal year. The Company
reported net earnings of $1,438,000 or $0.13 per basic share and $0.12 per
diluted share, for fiscal 2003 compared with net income of $565,000, or $0.07
per basic and per diluted share, for fiscal 2002, an increase of 155%.

The fiscal 2003 results included a gain of $449,000, or $0.04 per share, from
income tax benefits associated with net operating loss carryover. Without this
gain, the Company would have reported a net income of $0.09 per basic share and
$0.08 per diluted share for fiscal 2003.

commented Gil Allon, CEO of Ophthalmic Imaging Systems. "These results reflect
the success of our WinStation line of products, which offer ultra-high
resolution digital imaging solutions, in the ophthalmic market. In addition, the
alliance we entered into with NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc. in
2003 diversified our product line and enabled us to participate in the rapidly
growing market of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)."

saw a major improvement in our operational and financial performance; we
increased our revenues, operating and profit margins, and earnings per share as
