Jim: I'm not sure I understand the last 2 paragraphs. I've been under the impression that Westell will pay MOT for the DMT solution and MOT will pay AMTX. For every Westell DMT modem sold, AMTX will get some type of revenue.
I actually had a different Login name before Jan96, but I located my first ADSL post in the GANDF thread... date on Jan2,1996....
I own GANDF tech., but I have been reading about a new technology called Asymmetric Digital Subsriber Line "ADSL". This service can occur over the copper based phone lines today like ISDN, BUT provide much higher speeds into the home. This speeds can occur upto 6 megabits per second. Thats right 6mbps....
then on April 15th, 1996... exchange2000.com
I just sold my last 100 shares in Gandf today at 14.25. This may have been a mistake, but my largest holding is in AMTX with its competing technology xDSL. On 1/24/96 I sold 100 shares of GANDF to buy 200 shares of AMTX at 6.5. AMTX is now 15. Over the past 2 months I've held both GANDF and AMTX, as I researched the xDSL technology. I've concluded that ISDN will not last... 1-2 years. In the short term GANDF may do well, that is earnings, but since the market looks 6-9 months in the future I've finally called it quites in GANDF.
I consider myself a novice in the market and technology area's. The main reason I'm posting this message is to find out if GANDF is looking into the xDSL technology. If they added this to their product line, I would buy back into GANDF. Does anyone have any info on the GANDF - xDSL front. Thanks
I lurked on the AMTX thread for some time, getting an understanding of the technology. That was along time ago...and my largest holding was 200 shares... I've put alot of additional $$$ into this xDSL sector since... until later. |
