Southeast Asia Telecom Growth> December 21, 1998 Southeast Asia wireless users to double by 2003 CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The number of cellular and personal communications services subscribers in Southeast Asia will grow from more than 8.5 million this year to more than 19.8 million by 2003, according to a Pyramid Research study, titled ‘‘Wireless Markets and Strategies in Southeast Asia.'' The introduction of prepaid services are expected to boost subscriber uptake and allow Southeast Asia's wireless markets to maintain growth despite economic difficulties in the region. Wireless service revenues for the region are expected to grow from $3.2 billion this year to $6.6 billion by 2003, said the report. Latest Issue
