Tex, Like you my daytrading has been mixed with success and failure. It seems I do best when I follow my own picks. Many of the picks on
the daytrading channels become "channel plays" and unless you have lightning fast resources and response times you are bound to loose.

I am learning just like you and last thursday and friday I lost. Thursday was a tough day, I would have been fine if I would have stayed away from one stock. The stock was moved down on good news
I should have seen it comming but I did not listen to my instincts.

As for stops I use them very sparingly even when not daytrading. I am able to monitor things fairly closely. If I see a stock weaken I will
sell out my position and wait for the drop then re-buy in. Thats what I did with RNTK. Sold on thursday when it failed a second run at the top. I have found that candles really have helped me there. I too believe in the long term prospects of RNTK and want to own it longer term. Friday i looked at the charts and made a guess at the low. I guessed 1 7/16 as it turns out I should have guessed 1 5/16. Anyway I
put a limit order in for RNTK,TCEL, and ROTI all stocks that I owned on Thursday and wanted to continue to own. I ended up buying all three back at the limits I set. Monday could be an interesting day I think the doom and gloom is over done and I was the benifactor of FEAR.

As far as daytrading goes I'd love to compare notes anytime.

This is what im doing now:

1)Review the news item and make my own interpretation.
2)Look at the chart, I like to see basing patterns or upward trend.
3)Look at the fundimentals, good fundi's makes it easier to have confidence in your pick.
4)Either make or reject the opportunity dont chase
5)If you make a mistake cut your losses and move on rather than tie the money up.

One other thing I am starting to really like playing good news that may not get noticed right away. Usually these are low volume low float stocks. They seem to go up for long periods of time with minimal volotility.

Btw I am -2500 this week:) So dont follow any of my advice;)
