Hope this will have a positive effect on FBCE: Corning (GLW) stated it sees 1Q operating net income of $0.53-$0.55,ahead of the First Call consensus estimate of $0.48. The company also said it sees full-year 2000 operating earnings $0.10 above the Street's forecast of $2.35. Corning attributed its upside expectations to strong demand for its LEAF optical fiber.
