Hi Arthur,
Thanks again for sharing what you know about NCT. Do you have any performance numbers about how much better or worse NCT's MPEG implementation performs compared to other products? Certainly Sarnoff is not the only company who knows how to optimize MPEG for low bandwidth connections. Just because NCT's products are optimized for low bandwidth connections does not necessarily make them any better than competing applications.

NCT's application uses a prorietery technique that allows real time live broadcast into the internet.

Why does NCT use a proprietary technique? The whole power of the internet is that technology is based on open standards. There is already an open standard for live internet broadcasts, and it has been in use and development for years now. If you want more information about it, check out mbone.com. One thing to note, if NCT uses a proprietary standard for multicasting, they will probably run into problems getting IP router vendors to support this standard. They'd be a lot better off supporting open standards to do this.

So far I'm still having a hard time understanding how NCT's products provide any added value to its customers. Can you help me to find out how NCT adds value to its products? How can I find out this information, which should be clearly available via NCT's marketing department? It NCT can't clearly communicate the value of its products, it won't matter how good its technology is, because it will not be able to attract customers.

Regards,
Craig
