Look at all the big newspaper groups on the doldrums, plus radio conglomerates, and you have your answer.

Both Newsweek and Time are owned by much larger conglomerates that may want to keep them going for image reasons. Time goes back to Luce, after all.

I doubt they would survive as stand alone businesses nowadays.
