JDN: Re: Mainframe tool ... Several suppliers: CA, CPWR, PLAT, VIAS are the biggees, in my opinion. There is plenty of room for the PC/UNIX tools. Don't forget MatriDigm, which also has a tool. There are several pretenders out there that would have a heck of time with a multi-million LOC contract, but even products that pretend can be successful with the right process surrounding them. The Y2K problem is more of a management and control issue than a technical issue. The best tool won't do the job if the supporting process isn't solid ... or if the process is solid, but the technical team doesn't follow the process. You still need good, experienced mainframe personnel to work out all the ideosynchrasies in any given site. Every site is different. PC programmers typically don't have the mainframe experience to determine the best solution for an environmentally sensitive issue. Regards, TED
