RE: Oracle's CRM sales....

Mike and fellow Siebel holders, this is what I read in terms of Oracle's numbers:

"New sales of its customer relationship management software, which includes sales force automation, call center and other offerings, nearly tripled to $49 million, Henley said."

dailynews.yahoo.com

Compare Oracle's $49 million in CRM sales to Siebel's $170 million for the previous quarter. So, if we go on the prediction of Oracle's executives that they will grow their CRM sales by 100% next quarter, that puts sales at $98 million for Oracle if they can reach that. I'm not going to assume that Siebel is going to have a 'flat' quarter from their previous $170 million in sales and come in at $170 million. Ha!

Using the figures above, I really have to question the CEO's statement:

"Oracle hopes to pass Siebel Systems (Nasdaq: SEBL) as the top CRM vendor sometime in the next fiscal year, Ellison said."

At least the word 'hopes' shows a little more reality than 'will'. Larry can keep on hoping but I remain very confident on Tom Siebel and gang to extend their lead.
