Had one in my old neighborhood and it was fine until we got an especially anal retentive group that ran the architectural commitee, it was a historical neighborhood, so you wanted to maintain some of the original feel. At any rate these guys wound up being covenant nazies, I was glad to sell the house finally and move far out into the country. Here I can't see any of my neighbors in the summer when the trees have leaves and in the winter I can see them but I'm not close enough that I feel compelled to help them push their cars out of the snow.

There's something to be said for being able to play your music as loud as you want, hearing your neighbors dog way off in the distance and having enough privacy to swim anyway you want in your pool (if you know what I mean).
