<< Why not allow them to go back home, to Palestine? >> Palestine was originally split into two pieces, one for Jews, the other for Arabs. There was supposed to be an Arab state and a Jewish state. The Jews agreed, accepted statehood. The Arabs rejected statehood, refused to have two states, one Arab and one Jewish, and attacked the Jews. That followed Palestinians leaving their homes, and an equal number of Jews being force out of Arab nations, and into Israel. Israel accepted the fleeing Jewish refugees. The Arab nations refused to accept the fleeing Arab refugees. Then, of course, you had the survivors of the Holocaust, who had no place else to go. They had their homes and possessions stolen by the European countries, and they had most of their relatives murdered. The combined Arab nations waged five wars against the Jews. Fortunately, the Arabs lost all five wars, or all of the Jews would be dead right now.
You probably knew all this, and it probably doesn't matter to you, because you don't want the Israel/Palestinian conflict examined in a fair and balanced way. |
