OrionX and Nag1,

Earnings were good (with a beat) but not superb or outstanding which makes me question the fact that the stock has gone up $15 in last 2 days. Not complaining but a little surreal.
I can understand where you are coming from but what I will say to that is that maybe Apple was undervalued coming into earnings, especially when you look at the valuation of the rest of the market.

It was a very good quarter but, more important than the absolute numbers driving share price, investors are revaluing the company and bestowing a higher multiple on the absolute numbers. Apple's business model and strategy hasn't changed, it has just become clearer to a wider audience. Some of that has to do with WB and his folksy primers and translations on things many on this thread have understood: the "stickiness" of the consumer products ecosystem and what it means to the revenue model. Some of it has to do with the rapid growth of services and "other products."

The bottom line is that investors are understanding increasingly that AAPL isn't MOT, RIMM, DELL; it isn't a hardware company with easily commoditzable products. That drives the multiple and makes price increases more geometric and less linear. I say that its about freaking time! :)
