Zi Corporation secures seventh Korean contract

Calgary, AB (February 15, 2001) - Zi Corporation (NASDAQ: ZICA) (TSE: ZIC)
has licensed its eZiText(tm) solution to Telson Information and
Communications Co., Ltd. for use in both GSM and CDMA platforms. Telson
currently ranks third in terms of Korean handset production, with the
capacity to produce 400,000 wireless handsets per month.

"eZiText(tm) is a key element in our product differentiation and export
strategy," said C.S. Lee, senior managing director, Telson. "Telson's goal
for 2001 is to export more than two million handsets in total, supplying
CDMA handsets to Latin America and China and GSM handsets to China and
Europe."

eZiText(tm) will initially be implemented in English, Spanish, Portuguese
and Chinese, with other languages to follow. Telson has already secured
orders for GSM handsets, which will be sold in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and
other Southeast Asian countries. Telson has also arranged an export
agreement to distribute Telson handsets in France, Spain and Italy.

"Zi now has agreements with Telson and LG Electronics, representing two of
the three top Korean manufacturers, as well as agreements with Wide Telecom,
Hutel, Standard Telecom, Sewon and GTRAN," says Gordon Tsang, regional sales
manager, Zi Corporation. "With a recently completed implementation on GTRAN
handsets, Zi has proven that it delivers the language expertise and
engineering support Korean manufacturers need."

Founded in 1992, Telson is one of Korea's leading suppliers of pagers and
wireless handsets. Since 1997, the company has focused on developing CDMA
products. Telson has supplied devices to markets in Korea, the United
States and Latin America, totaling 1.7 million units in 2000. Telson's net
sales for 2000 was over US$308 million.
